This chapter establishes urban agriculture land use standards and permit requirements. It includes provisions related to neighborhoods farmers' markets, produce stands, urban farms, community gardens, green gocers, backyard chickens, beekeeping, and small domestic livestock (including minature goats and pot-bellied pigs, rabbits , fowl, chinchillas, ducks).

Some urban agriculture uses require a special use permit, the process for which is implemented by the Director of Community and Economic Development and staff; final applications are reviewed and approved by the Planning Commission. § 18.30.010-18.30.020.
The Director of Community and Economic Development investigates complaints alleging violation of the special use permit; decisions may be appealed to the Planning Commission. § 18.30.030(1).
