The ordinance amended the city code to expand its laws allowing mobile grocery store operations under certain conditions. According to the staff memo, the previous ordinance limited mobile stores to selling only prepackaged foods and only in senior high rises with no licensed grocery meat market. The amendement allows mobile stores to be in more places (but not within 100 feet of a licensed grocery store or farmers' market unless permission has been granted), and to sell prepackaged and fresh produce (but not alcoholic beverages or tobacco products), and requires them to offer “at least 50 items of fresh fruits and vegetables in at least 7 varieties.”
Mobile stores are permitted in parking lots of ""high-density residential properties" (Sec. 295.30)
Wholesome food and fresh produce (Sec. 295.40)
Scc. 295.40
Issuance of an ordinance violation citations, the imposition of reasonable conditions or restrictions upon the license, a license suspension, denial of renewal, or license revocation. Sec. 295.120
This uncodified ordinance amended Title 13 (Licenses and Business Regulations), Chapter 295 (formerly called Groceterias and Portable Stores, and changed to Mobile Food Stores by the ordinance).
