This law establishes requirements and regulations for a S.M.A.R.T Housing Program, which uses fee waivers as an incentive to encourage "housing that is safe, mixed-income, accessible, reasonably priced, transit-oriented, and compliant with the City's Green Building Standards." Access to "fresh and healthy" foods is one condition that can be used to obtain a waiver for the transit-oriented requirement of the S.M.A.R.T. Housing Program.
S.M.A.R.T. Housing requirements address proximity to public transit routes and may include access to fresh and healthy foods. §§ 25-1-703(B)(4),E(1); § 25-1-701(2)(d).
See reference to "access to fresh and healthy foods." § 25-1-701(2).
See references to "minimal environmental hazards" and "green building standards." § 25-1-701(2)(h); § 25-1-703(A).
See references to housing that is "...mixed-income [and] …reasonably priced." § 25-1-703(A).
Although there is no "purpose" listed as such, S.M.A.R.T. Housing is described as "housing that is safe, mixed-income, accessible, reasonably priced, transit-oriented, and compliant with the City's Green Building Standards." § 25-1-703(A).
§ 25-1-701.
The Director of the City's Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Department shall administer the S.M.A.R.T. Housing Program and may adopt and implement program guidelines and establish the requirements for an application under the program. § 25-1-702(A).
