Allows for and creates regulations and permitting process for keeping of hens for egg production for personal use in certain residential zones. Allows up to four hens, which must be kept in a coop (which can also have an attached fenced in area). Slaughtering on the property is not allowed. Chickens or eggs may be sold from the property if a conditional permit is obtained.
Law includes "public health requirements." including the need to keep chickens in a "sanitary manner to prevent the spread of communicable diseases among birds, animals or to humans . . . ." § 100-9 (D).

The law states how the Village Administrator/Clerk/Treasurer should administer the permitting application/process. § 100-9 (B).
"Violations shall be subject to the penalties set forth in § 1-4 of the Village Code of Ordinances." § 100-9 (B) (4).
