This code establishes design standards for landscaping. Requirements include low impact design that preserves existing native trees and vegetation, irrigation system, and encourages preservation of wildlife supporting vegetation. Fruit-bearing trees and plants are considered part of a "sustainable and edible landscape."
Although the word "health" does not explicitly appear, a "better quality of life" for people is commonly understood to include health. See reference in the intent and purpose section of the Unified Land Development Code, which includes a stated intention of the code to "promote better quality of life by creating a safe, healthy, and sustainable landscape." § 47-21.1.A.
Provisions require landscapes to be low impact design in accordance with Florida-Friendly Landcaping™. "Shrubs and trees should be incorporated as much as possible to provide food-sources for nectar-consuming pollinators…" §47-21.3.F.
