This resolution allocates $500,000 in CARES Act funds to Farmers Market vendors, in amounts up to $10,000 per vendor, for the purpose of rent relief for vendors that had operated a business, including farm stands, during March-December of 2020. The resolution recognizes that many Farmers’ Market vendors "have been substantially impaired during the pandemic and that these vendors require funding to meet their rent requirements." The resolution further recognizes that "the continued operation of the Nashville Farmers’ Market is critical to the city of Nashville, both as a function of connecting the food supply between local farmers and other vendors to Nashville residents continued role in the local food supply."
