This policy expressly allows "edible landscaping" in meeting zoning requirements for landscaping not subject to "general landscaping" or "parking and loading landscaping" requirements.
The chapter's purpose section lists, among other purposes, "to promote development that is compatible with …natural features" of the land. § 530.10.
The purpose of this policy is to "promote development that is compatible with nearby properties, neighborhood character, natural features and plans adopted by the city council, to minimize pedestrian and vehicular conflict, to reinforce public spaces, to promote public safety, and to visually enhance development." § 530.10.
