The City Council authorized $145,000 of CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act funding for the Community Action Center of Northfield to use for "public health measures related to expenses for food delivery to residents," including senior citizens and other vulnerable populations. The funds would create a satellite food shelf and mobile food distribution site that would "intentionally focus on providing accessible and healthy resources in Northfield's most diverse neighborhoods."
